The Hunt for New Adventures

It was a misty morning in more ways than one. The dewy silveriness of the fog surrounded everyone during morning stretch as campers sang “Happy Trails” to the Voyagers who were heading off-site to begin their 19-day adventure. A few last hugs were exchanged before the Voyagers boarded the vans and made their way north to put in at the Mississippi River.

The sky cleared up in time for all the interest groups, which allowed for campers to continue with all their typical day activities. Stony Lake was beautifully still for the campers who headed down for sailing or paddle fun.

As it was Tuesday, July 5, the eating lodge hosted Taco Tuesday, with campers and staff holding their tacos in the air and singing, naturally.

Night’s Doings consisted of the simple yet challenging activity of Leader Hunt. It’s exactly as it sounds: an elaborate game of hide and seek where the campers must go on the hunt for their leaders who are hiding throughout the entirety of Girls Camp,

Against the sunset, Evening Reflection focused on one element of the American Youth Foundation motto, adventure daringly, a perfect concept to reflect upon as the Voyagers departed and campers continued to grow by finding new challenges at camp.
