Our campers started the day with the warmest Polar Bear thus far and quickly jumped straight into an action packed Miniwanca day. After dancing to Star Trekking for their Rockagizer, campers enjoyed some pancakes and bacon for breakfast and headed off to CORE. Our Three Week campers reflected back on the experiences they have had thus far through journaling while our Two Week campers got a little orientation to life here at Miniwanca and learned how to have a Fun Safe Summer.

As morning hit its stride, our campers enjoyed the first day of Interest Groups for the week. They lined up for some shooting in archery, jammed out to some tunes while making jewelry, headed to the waterfront for paddle sports, and enjoyed many many other options. While it was still warm enough that campers thoroughly enjoyed jumping into Stony Lake and Lake Michigan, we have left the sweltering heat of Saturday in the past, and we saw that in the high spirits at lunch as campers enjoyed deli sandwiches.

After a relaxing rest hour, we enjoyed an Assembly led by our LIT’s. We sang about being eaten by a boa constrictor, learned some new Tribal Cheers, and got to witness a Lip Sync Battle between LIT and Leader. The rest of the afternoon held more fun Interest Groups like High Ropes Adventure, Melty BSistersead Creations, and Lake Michigan Free Time.

In the world of Four Trails, our Trailblazers headed out on their canoe overnight trip, while our Explorer Girls II returned from their canoe trip with happy faces and wonderful stories of their time on trail. The Explorers who are currently cycling will be back in camp tomorrow!

We wrapped up our day with a few rounds of Grab Bag and a gorgeous sunset on the beach. All in all, it was another beautiful Miniwanca day and an awesome start to the second week of our second session!
