Cabin Leader

Cabin Leaders (summer camp counselors) are the first to support campers in their personal development through cabin times with groups of 4-8 campers and by leading interest groups of 8-12 campers at a time. Cabin Leaders participate in all camp activities alongside campers to establish positive community and build meaningful relationships.

Four Trails Leader

Four Trails Leaders (summer camp counselors) are seasonal youth development professionals who co-lead a cabin group of 10 to 12 campers during backpacking and/or canoeing trips off-site and on Miniwanca property. Trips may be 2 to 17 days in length.

Community and School Programs Facilitator

CSP Facilitators are looking for caring, energetic people invested in working with youth and committed to fostering growth in themselves and others. Our team is strongest comprised of passionate, creative, and adventurous people.

Program Area Specialists

There are several different specialist positions available throughout both camps, such as Waterfront Specialist and Craft Program Specialist. In each program area, specialists will work to create an experience that helps campers learn and grow. Campers will learn and practice new skills under the care of the specialists.

Coordinators

Seasonal coordinators prepare and implement summer programming, including in-camp programming for Darers and Seekers, the Four Trails program, and waterfront activities. They also supervise teams of village leaders and program specialists.

LITs

LITs work as leaders in training, learning a variety of camp roles. They support cabin leaders and the Activities Team in Boys Camp and Girls Camp. LITs receive additional training and evaluation beyond staff training, participating in regular group and one-on-one meetings for professional development.

Scout Village Leader

The Scout Village Leaders develop and implement a discovery day program for children of camp staff (generally ages 3 to 12). Some evening duties may also be required as the needs of the program dictate.

Health Team

The Health Team is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of each camper. The primary functions of the Health Team include providing first aid care, overseeing the administration of medications to campers, coordinating visits to a physician when needed, monitoring health and cleanliness standards, and keeping camper medical records organized.

The Office Team provides general office support throughout the camp season, including clerical duties, sorting mail, answering the phone and being the initial professional to greet and welcome guests.

Driver

Drivers will be responsible for transporting campers, staff, and equipment to various locations throughout the summer. Some of these trips may be multiple days.

Photography Specialists document the daily activities at camp with an eye to the AYF’s year-round marketing and communication needs.

Communications Specialists write daily blog posts, create frequent social media posts, assist with camper family email communications, and write longer articles for the AYF monthly email newsletter.

The Food Program Team consists of assistants, specialists, and coordinators who help with food preparation, service, kitchen clean-up and dish washing to ensure healthy, safe meals for the staff and campers.
