All of our explorer villages enjoyed some time in camp over the past two days. As they prepared for their third and final adventures of the session, they also took part in some team building challenges and an evening fire at the waterfront with s’mores and songs. Madison village is now on trail in the Mahoosuc Mountains, with dreams of moose sightings dancing in their heads! Shaw village began their bike trip in high spirits. They assured us that rain is their favorite weather for biking before they set off. Jefferson village set sail on the Magalloway River today. They are looking forward to calm days on the water and pita pizzas in the evening.
Katahdin village enjoyed some rolling hills on their hiking trip today. Tomorrow they will be conquering 3 summits in the Saddlebacks, they hope to have clear skies and beautiful views!
Flag village made it to the Ben & Jerry’s factory today! They took silly photos together and devoured a Vermonster in “record time!”
Chocorua village is nearly finished with their bike trip, making their return to Merrowvista on Tuesday. They were humbled by the kindness of people along the way, who offered a warm space for them to hide from a passing rain storm.
Our Voyageur groups are both nearing the end of their Nova Scotian journeys. Voyageur Co-Ed is now rounding out the South Shore in West Pubnico, and Voyageur Men completed their tour of the Annapolis Valley today. They are both making their way to Yarmouth, where they will be catching the ferry back to Portland, ME on Tuesday!
Both of our Odyssey groups made it to their final campsites at the base of Mt. Katahdin today! They will spend their final days on trail enjoying the company of their villagemates and the silence of the woods. They cannot wait to make their final ascent of the tallest mountain in Maine!
