Summer Seminars for Women is a five-day retreat offering a unique opportunity for women across multiple generations to come together for learning, reflection, connection, and fun through individual and group activities. The American Youth Foundation mission is the bedrock of our work, and our programs are intentionally designed to encourage participants of all ages to unleash their best.
New for 2026!
- Summer Seminars for Women will explore West and East Camp, where the adventure team will offer low ropes interest groups.
- More full-time Miniwanca staff will support the program
- More inter-generational interaction with the Girls Camp community.
- An optional add-on day Aug. 3 for an additional cost (includes meals).
This year's theme: Turning to Wonder
Imagine viewing something, someone, and ourselves through the lens of curiosity or openness over criticism or judgment. Shifting our focus to a place of interest, observation, and even awe can create a deepening of understanding, relationship-building, and self-awareness.
Our session keynotes, Amy Powell and Joy Kiefer, along with the SSW Coordinators and the Miniwanca leadership team, will provide a "safe container" that will allow for exploration, experience, connection, and practice.
We'll also turn inward, listen to and trust our own inner teacher, navigate, and share our sense of wonder with a strong community of women. Throughout SSW, we'll integrate lots of time in nature, joy-filled activity, fun, connection, and pie!
