Food Program Director
Kim Novotny was first introduced to the American Youth Foundation when her husband became the Facilities Manager at Merrowvista in early 2000s . She worked in the kitchen on and off for more than a decade before taking on her current role as Food Service Manager in 2016. Kim works with local farms to source ingredients for delicious healthy meals. She loves finding creative ways to introduce kids to new, exciting foods they haven’t tried before and takes pride in her staff and work at Merrowvista.
Kim’s three sons attended Merrowvista as children. Her daughter and eldest son worked with her for a short time in the kitchen, and her granddaughter attended several years as a daycamper. The AYF has been a huge part of Kim’s life, and feels that she’s gained such positive impactful relationships with full-time colleagues, as well as the changing seasonal staff each year.
