Here is a quick update on the 4 trails trips! It’s been a busy week for Four Trails—campers have been busy preparing for their adventures. Here’s the breakdown of what the trip groups have been up to since their arrival at camp on Sunday:

Trailblazers have been in-camp most of the week, enjoying time spent with the whole camp community. After dinner last night they spent some time out on the water practicing their paddling strokes and getting more comfortable in canoes. They did really well and enjoyed the evening spent on Stony Lake!

The Explorer groups have enjoyed their time in camp and are now both hiking the North Country Trail in the upper peninsula of Michigan. They spent most of yesterday hiking along Lake Superior and dove into the forest today inland toward Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

After two days of shakedowns on their bikes, the Adventurers were excited to get out on the roads yesterday and are camped in nearby Pentwater. Today one group of adventurers began their journey north toward Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore while the other group headed east toward the Houghton Lake area of Michigan. They’ve got some big miles ahead of them but also plenty of time for time spent watching sweet summer sunsets on the beach.

The Odyssey campers departed yesterday after several days in camp. They spent the past week working on their bikes and packing their panniers with all of the things they’ll carry for the next 5 weeks on their way to New Hampshire. They kicked off their epic journey with cheers from the Four Trails coordinating team and past Odyssey campers who came out to cheer them on as they rode out of camp for their first day of biking!

For our In camp campers the first half of our day was a typical day. It started off with a great breakfast of waffles, sausage, and peaches. IGs 1 and 2 finished up with some fun last day activities. Harry Potter party learned how to play Quidditch! Lunch was delicious meatball subs and chips. After an extended rest hour all the campers broke up into their Tribes to put the finishing touches on their skits for tonight’s Tribal council. One weekers then proceeded to start packing up their cabins because we have to say goodbye to them tomorrow. We had a much needed free swim right before dinner to cool off all the kiddos. Dinner was enchilada pie, chips, and salsa. After dinner we made our way down to Council Circle to watch the creative skits and songs invented by each tribe. One weekers then went off to their cabins for cabin closing, while three weekers went to the beach for an Evening Reflection on possibility.

Keep checking in, updates to come everyday!!
