Sydney Freeman began her Miniwanca journey as a camper at age 9, spending every summer on the dunes discovering her best self. She went through the Four Trails program, then transitioned to the seasonal staff team where she served as a cabin leader, trip leader, Girls Camp coordinator, and Community and Schools Programs facilitator. She earned a degree in arts and humanities at Michigan State University, focusing on community engagement and youth development. Her passion for serving youth has led her to work in various west Michigan schools as a substitute teacher and after-school enrichment coordinator.
Sydney is thrilled to be back at Miniwanca full time and loves greeting guests in the main office and the variety of ways she gets to help Miniwanca run smoothly in all its seasons. She enjoys hiking, cycling, board games, and all sorts of arts and crafts, a hobby that was heavily influenced by lots of time spent in the Girls Camp Craft House.
