Merrowvista

Steph Dasman

Director of Camp Programs

Steph is excited to bring her years of experience in camp administration and youth development to Camp Merrowvista as the Director of Camp Programs. She started working as a day camp counselor in high school, spent the best summers of her life on a residential camp staff in college, and went on to camp director roles as she built her career.

While living in Boston, Steph also served in a variety of youth settings, including public schools, emergency shelters, community centers, and outdoor education nonprofits like the Appalachian Mountain Club, Boston Green Academy, and the Brookline Teen Center. No matter where she went, the magic of camp always called her back!

Both Steph and her husband, Steve, worked at Merrowvista in summer 2016 as staff with Camp Spinnaker, a program for campers with asthma started by an AYF alum. They are thrilled to return to Tuftonboro in 2023 to start a new adventure at such a special place.

Steph earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Boston University and a master’s of theological Studies, specializing in humanist theologies and world religions. She is deeply invested in understanding how our societal structures impact the identity formation and well-being of young people. Steph brings her passion for developing authentic relationships with campers and staff to Merrowvista, and she is committed to developing youth leaders who are confident, justice-minded, and enthusiastic about creating communities of belonging at camp and beyond.

Steph and her husband love going on outdoor adventures, watching documentaries, eating ice cream, and sharing life with their chosen family of friends as they await the birth of their first baby in April!
