Four Trails Coordinator
Raised in a rural, off-the-grid home in Vermont, Neal quickly fell in love with the mountains, rivers, and forests of northern New England. Upon graduating in 2012 with a degree in physics from Colorado College, he set his sights on becoming an educator. He hasn’t looked back since. Neal has worked as an outdoor education specialist at Colorado College, instructed canoeing, sea-kayaking, backpacking, and climbing courses with Voyageur Outward Bound School in Minnesota, and completed a master’s degree in outdoor education at the University of Edinburgh. In addition to his role as an educator, Neal is a passionate cross-country skier, backcountry skier, paddler, and wilderness adventurer. Neal began working at Merrowvista in 2018, drawn here by the rewarding mission of youth development and the location’s inspiring natural beauty.
