AYF Senior Director of Health and Safety
Astrid has a long history working with youth and families for the American Youth Foundation. She served the AYF for 14 years, starting with the Merrowvista internship program in 1996. She held many positions, such as Program Director and Site Director. In 2009, she left the AYF to start Zebra Crossings, a nonprofit in the Seacoast region of New Hampshire whose mission is to empower children who have chronic medical conditions. Astrid applied her AYF experience and passion for bringing youth together and creating a safe place for them to find peer support while challenging themselves to be their best selves. Over the years, Zebra Crossings has proudly partnered with the AYF on a number of programs at Merrowvista.
Astrid has served as a member of the AYF Risk Management Committee for the past 10 years and she also serves on the board of Leadership Seacoast. She is a volunteer EMT with McGregor Memorial EMS in Durham, NH. Astrid is excited to join the AYF community part-time while she will also continue in her role as Executive Director of Zebra Crossings.
