Ambrean “Bre” Ford, LLMSW
Director of Community Life, Diversity, and Inclusion

Ambrean “Bre” Ford is from Detroit, Michigan and currently resides in the metro Detroit area. She learned about Miniwanca on a random camp website, and despite not knowing anyone associated with the camp, she took a leap of faith and joined the seasonal staff in summer 2016 as a Cabin Leader. Since then, she has served as the Sixth-Grade Coordinator, LIT Coordinator, Coordinator of Quad Games, and a 2020 Virtual Facilitator. In spring 2019, she worked with Merrowvista Community and School programs. She was also part of the first group of Mulcahy Fellows in 2019.
While attending Central Michigan University, Bre worked as the Inclusion Assistant in Wheeler Hall for almost three years. This position allowed her to support, educate, and connect with freshman residents who hold minority identities. In May 2020, she graduated with bachelor’s in social work, and she recently completed her master’s in social work from the University of Michigan.
Working seasonally for the AYF seasonally has heavily impacted the way Bre views youth empowerment. She loves being part of a community effort that provides opportunities and healthy challenges to young people. The dunes have a very special place in her heart.
