Merrowvista Four Trails – the first adventures of Session B

Posted on

Today Katahdin and Madison are spending their last days in camp before beginning their first adventures. Katahdin did a shakedown hike to the Ledge, while Madison got to know Dan Hole a little better via canoe. Both are excited about learning some new skills before heading out tomorrow.

Today was a big day for “Alohas.” In total 6 groups made their way out of the Canaan Valley. Liberty set sail on Lake Aziscohos. They will spend the next few days paddling down the Magalloway, Lake Umbagog and the Androscoggin. Flag Village is embarking on a great Mahoosuc adventure. We hope for them to have great summit views and cozy, dry nights.

Shaw village jumped in the saddle today… the Saddleback range, that is! Shaw got out of camp this morning with great efficiency and style. They will spend the next 10 days hiking through the Saddlebacks and Bigelows. We wish we could be there with them! Chocorua village also jumped in the saddle this morning, but this one is a bike saddle! They stunned us all with their especially early, pre-breakfast departure. Watch out Bar Harbor, here they come!

It’s full steam ahead for our Voyageur groups! Both Voyageur Men and Voyageur Women will be making port this evening in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Though they are eager to get on the bike, their first day of biking will be tomorrow.
