Cabin C2 led us this morning for flag raising, and did a wonderful job expressing today’s theme of “Balanced Living.” Each member discussed the 4-Folds (mental, social, religion/reflection, and physical) here at Miniwanca and how those help to achieve balance in our lives.
Breakfast was early today so our new campers could have time to complete swim checks. The air was a bit cool, so it helped the water was pleasantly warm! After returning from the waterfront, we jumped right into our first Interest Groups of the day.
A delicious grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup lunch was followed by rest time (which is always appreciated by the hard working cabin leaders!) Interest Groups filled out the rest of the afternoon before dinner. Campers spent their time in activities like the high ropes course, horseback riding, and a new interest group called Improv.
Balanced Living was highlighted again during the Opening Council and a hike up the Michigan Trail for Evening Reflection. At Council, campers learned of our founding fathers, sang camp songs, and had an impassioned dare to be their very best, all the time. Sitting on Baldy, watching the setting sun was the perfect ending to another magical Miniwanca day!
