AYF Summer Internship
Applications have closed for 2020
Within the American Youth Foundation, we believe there is both great need and great opportunity this summer to make an important and positive difference in the lives of countless youth whose lives have been disrupted. We believe we can be of service to them, and we need you to join the cause! In this time of limited resource and tremendous need, we believe if we combine out strength, we can do important, good work together.
Therefore, the American Youth Foundation is seeking self-motivated, passionate, and driven individuals eager to advance their professional and educational goals through an internship experience within a youth development-focused nonprofit setting. In this internship, you will propose your course of study and will let us know how this experience relates to your individual needs. This is not a cookie-cutter experience. We want you to tell us how you would use the resources and connections of the AYF to better the lives of youth this summer, and we will work to tailor your experience to meet your specific needs.
Requirements: Interns must be 18 years or older at the time of applying and legally allowed to be employed in the United States.
Date Commitment We do have some ability to flex the internship dates based on your needs, but we are prioritizing the six weeks between June 29 and August 7, 2020.
Time Commitment We anticipate approximately 20 hours per week for six weeks of the summer, but the hours and weeks will vary by internship focus. Please tell us more about your availability in your application. If your college or institution requires a longer or more specific internship, please share those details in your application.
Travel Commitment This is an entirely virtual internship and does not require any in-person presence. We do ask that you have a steady internet connection and ability to regularly engage in video meetings.
Stipend This internship comes with a $500 stipend given upon completion of your internship.
Availability This is a competitive internship with limited spots available. We will accept applications on a rolling basis throughout the summer in several phases. The first phase of applications has a deadline of Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
We have limited openings in all the following areas and will gladly work with you in order to meet your educational and/or professional goals.
- Experiential Program Design and Delivery (primarily in a virtual setting)
- Youth Development and Leadership Training
- Marketing, Communications, and Advancement
- Nonprofit Development and Relationship Stewardship
- Facility Planning and Maintenance
