AYF Service Awards
We are seizing the opportunity of the dinner auction to recognize individuals who support the work we do and continue to have a positive impact on their communities. These annual awards, deemed the Enkindled Spirit Award and the Visionary Award, are intended to honor individuals for the work of building and sharing the mission of the AYF in their communities and the wider world. These individuals inspire people to discover and develop their personal best, to seek balance in their daily lives and to make a positive difference in their home communities.
We are proud to announce this year’s recipients, Shawn Swartzentruber of Hoopeston, Illinois and Meg Campbell of Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Please join us at the Dinner Auction on April 30 to recognize and honor Shawn and Meg.
What to expect
Donald Danforth Jr. dedicated his life to helping people, advancing the mission, programs, and people of the American Youth Foundation.
It is to honor his legacy of humble service that we invite you to join us at Meadowbrook Country Club for a seated dinner and auction on Sunday, May 6. For those participating in the golf tournament, not only will we see you on Monday, May 7 for 18 holes at Meadowbrook, but we welcome you and a guest for the dinner and auction on Sunday night as well. This event is for golfers and non-golfers alike, where funds raised provide scholarships for St. Louis youth to experience AYF programs.
Frequently Asked Questions
This year we are moving to a new location, Meadowbrook Country Club, and changing our format from a 1-day event to a 2-day event. Sunday evening we welcome both golfers and non-golfers to a seated dinner and silent and live auction. Monday will be the tournament with lunch, 18 holes of golf and reception with awards. The tournament will be the same shotgun start format as in past years.
Absolutely! Our new format provides the opportunity for those who don’t play golf or are not available to play in the tournament to come out and support AYF through the event. We welcome you to come out for a night of fun and food as we raise money for St. Louis youth scholarships!
This year, your team will not only participate in Monday’s golf tournament, but as part of your registration you will receive tickets for your foursome and a guest to attend the Sunday night dinner/auction. On Monday at the tournament you will still enjoy lunch before hitting the links and with drinks, appetizers and awards following the afternoon of golf.
Sunday evening is business or business casual attire. Monday is appropriate golf attire and footwear. Meadowbrook Country Club requests that all guests please do not wear jeans or t-shirts.
The evening will begin with registration and cocktails at 5:30 p.m., where you will be able to mingle with other guests and bid on the silent auction items around the venue. The dinner and program will begin at 7 p.m. where attendees will be served a seated dinner and help raise some scholarship funds through a live auction and fund-in-need. The event will conclude around 9 p.m.
Registration begins at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served before heading out to the course for a fun-filled afternoon of golf. Shotgun start is at noon. Afterwards, golfers will be able to join us in the clubhouse for a reception with appetizers and drinks during which time awards will be announced.
